digipack Research

Digipaks typically consist of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside.
Since Digipaks were among the first alternatives to jewel cases to be used by major record companies, and because there is no other common name for Digipak-style packaging made by other companies, the term digipak or Digi-Pak is often used generically, even when the media holder is a hub or "Soft Spot" rather than a full plastic tray.

For further research into Digipaks, I decided to research different rap genre type that have used a similar style of a digipak which is evidently the style of a released album or music video. Including this i also looked at different artists Digipaks across different Genre's and why they all stand out specifically for each artist.

my first example:

As you can see this Digipak is very distinctive, it stand out from the crowd because of the artwork used on the front. It works well because this is the front of the digipack the front cover and is unlike anything else on the market, the consumer if looking for this particular album will be able to spot it from a shelf in a store with ease. Helping this band, and the genre stay distinctive. Also the use of distinctive colours such as the yellow, and the black against the white, all adding to the uniqueness of this digipak.
this also really good that the picture is at the front and repressing the ideology of the character being the worshiper and the connotation of it being that his superior to his people with the idea that his famous and very wealthy. Puting up his hands repressing the fact that his obeying to god and showing the audience that his the king making them feel interested on what lifestyle he lives.
however in the bottom of the digipak we do have the main protagonist or singer in the church and is standing in the shadows showing that his religious and these songs of his choice is down to him obligating his gift of knowing god exist and thanking him for his fame.
the divi oak also has the man song title in the front and the rappers name and we feel we will use the same formation but subvert it by not putting the name of the artist right in the middle but below at the bottom.

The cd of it is very unique and there is aclour contrast to it being rd and black.this could mean that his going back to the theme of his song title "god forgive" and that the red might represent sins and devilish side of the story.this is important to have the same type of colours that are used in the front cover and the title of the music video so that everything blends together and not complicate.

the back contains of the music songs that are in the digipak but our digipak would consist of the lyrics and also the song of our music video. There is also a barcode that we would need to put on our music video.also there is a close up of the artist that shows more emotion and the colour scheme still stays the same. This is a representation of what sort of digipak is being produced in mainstream music. As you can see thing remain very simple, but still bold and outlandish, with the use of black and white, very unique in its design. Showing that from sub-genres, to rock legends, to mainstream pop artists, the convention for digipaks are much the same, in the way they all have the same unique identity to make them stand out from the competition.
