Technology used

The iMacs were our most commonly used media technology, because they contained all of the software we needed to edit our footage and ancillary texts.
iMovie was used to edit all of our footage for the music video, because it is a fast and easy-to-use program that allowed us to add inserts, text, transitions and effects over various clips of footage. The program also allowed us to speed up or slow down any footage we wanted to, which really helped when we worked on lip syncing the piece. Using it in a pair was a lot simpler than we first thought, because we were able to both view the footage. As I was more experienced with the software, I did a lot of the actual editing, with input from my partner. We were able to make decisions on different lighting effects and text inserts to create a better video.

The digital video camera we used was very convenient, because it allowed us to easily record over our useless footage, such as when the lighting was incorrect. It also meant we didn’t have to rewind the tape to watch our footage back, as it was all saved on to the camera’s hard-drive. This also meant that we could import the footage straight from the camera, and didn’t need to look after a tape as well as the camera. It allowed us to import the footage at home and email it to the iMac for editing, which sped up the process massively.

this software was important in our development of our music scene. The I movie helped us changed and take out irrelevant scenes. Also some of our scenes weren't as dark as we wanted them to be so we choose different affect to reflect back to the mood change of different characters. For example when n the characters were really angry we used a really slow motion affect to show the emotion was shown and also the change in lighting. When also doing the editing I started to know how to use the editing by seeing my collages use it they helped explain some things like for example timing the lip singing which we found really hard but the help of Abdradi really doing the editing stages and making sure everything was in tacked helped our development of our music video. the key thing is that we let each person in our team to take the mac home and do some editing and with this we would know what needs to be done and also we thought about not changing the things that we done as it will keep us behind and not move forward.

the other problem we had was the change in not only using one camera but using a different camera all the time but we still had the I movie and the things we saved already there so uploading footage was actually in the end not as hard as we thought.
it also helped us make sure to add the right amount of minutes to synchronise the lip singing with the songs and also put things in different places. the fact that we also done the singing with the song being tghere and the I movie allowing us to hear the music and me singing was much easier to synchronise th lipsing but we had to be precise and made so many changes.
